This is really great!  I attended the conference as well, and had many of the same impressions.   But more than that, you accurately represent the context of these remarks.   We, as Americans have to confront the tough truths of our own circumstance, and our responses to that circumstance before we can see the world as it is, and join with others to heal the terrible inequities and hardships that plague the vast majority of humanity.
I hadn&#039;t thought it through, but I have to agree that only those in a weak position with reference to the truth, cannot assert it.  I think I might go one step further and say that living in a culture of dishonesty and abuse creates an unhealthy cynicism that is reflected in our projection of those motivations on the words and actions of others. 
Thanks for coming forward and taking up the causes of world peace and respect for human dignity.</description>
